Nitrous Oxide

N₂O

Depending on its purity, nitrous oxide (often called “laughing gas”) is widely used in the food, medical, and semiconductor industries.

Chem Gas has greatly improved the purity and production capacity of nitrous oxide through continuous technological updates, and is one of the outstanding suppliers in the semiconductor field.

Nitrous oxide may be used as an aerosol propellant in various fields:

-for whipped cream (because it improves the foaming characteristics of the cream), syrups, concentrates of coffee, chocolate and various flavours, sauces for grilled meats, vinaigrette etc. -pharmaceutical field

-cosmetics (perfumes, eau de cologne, hair spray, etc.)

-household products, paints and varnishes, insecticides

-aerosols for use at low temperature, such as de-icers, engine starting boosters, etc.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is obtained most commonly by the thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate. It may also be obtained by controlled reduction of nitrites or nitrates, by the slow decomposition of hyponitrites, or by the thermal decomposition of hydroxylamine. Chem recycles the exhaust gas, purify and refine it to get high-purity nitrous oxide, the key point is to control the content of CO2 and moisture before the gas entering into rectifying tower. The annual output of Chem Gas‘s 5N5 N2O gas has exceded 9,000 tons.

FAQs

Nitrous oxide is obtained most commonly by the thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate.

Yes, Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a greenhouse gas, and is one of the six greenhouse gases specified in the Kyoto Protocol. N2O is long in the atmosphere and can be transported to the stratosphere, while N2O is one of the substances leading to the loss of the ozone layer.

Compared with carbon dioxide, although the content of N2O in the atmosphere is very low, but its single-molecule warming potential is 298 times that of carbon dioxide (IPCC, 2007); the warming effect on the global climate will become increasingly prominent in the future.

The modified vehicle using the nitrogen-oxygen acceleration system sends nitrous oxide into the engine, and when heated, it is decomposed into nitrogen and oxygen, which improves the combustion rate of the engine and increases the speed. Oxygen has a combustion-supporting effect and accelerates the combustion of fuel.
